Once I figured out the controlls the game play was smooth.Pros: Music is amazing, different enough to be new and unique, but not too crazy that it distracts from the gameplay.Game play overall is smooth and the shadows actually respond to simple shadow physics The game looksa amazing with all of the color schemes and animation style. If you like art, then you will like this. The puzzles are difficult enough to not make the game an absolute breeze, but are not impossible to figure out. Playing this with the co-op option is a lot of fun especially when you and the other person actually rely heavily on eachother. Cons: There is one little glitch where you can stand in the wall. You don't skip anything, and you don't get stuck but it is just there.I say getting this game is totally worth it.. So the 3D controls need work. The final boss has a glitch that will not complete the level even when all the objectives are met. I would not play this game if you are on the verge of suicide, since it may put you over the edge.. A lovely twist on the traditional co-op platformer. While it has a single player mode, I wouldn't recommend it, co-op is where this game shines. While enjoyable, there are a few niggling problems that keep the game from being perfect. The controls are, at times, sluggish. This makes some of the more precise puzzles a bit challenging to complete and can cause them to feel tedious at times.Overall a great game with a few kinks that one hopes can be worked out in future updates. 3.5\/5. A story about a boy and his shadow, this game makes it's players totally immersed in everything that's going on. The puzzles are actually a little tricky at times and are a lot of fun to solve. I find myself being connected to the other player on a different level, since everything depends on total co-operation, and because you always have to be close to eachother, or you die. And the way the game looks is really charming in it's own kind of way!I recommend this game to anyone out there that needs something to play locally, since you can beat it in a single session. I also joined a couple buddies to play through this game at Gigacon 2014, and i had a lot of time to observe it. We beat it in a single sitting, for about 3-4 hours, and we had an absolute blast. It had a really artistic feel and is something i have been looking for for a while.. A lovely twist on the traditional co-op platformer. While it has a single player mode, I wouldn't recommend it, co-op is where this game shines. While enjoyable, there are a few niggling problems that keep the game from being perfect. Shadow Puppeteer is a beautiful, unique and interesting platformer. It's great fun to play with a friend, and was to me surprisingly fluent single player as well. Controlling both characters at the same time creates for a very cool dynamic. I adore the art style, and I think the cutscenes are fantastic. The music is also really good, and creates a very nice atmosphere.Yes, the game has some flaws, but to me personally they're very minor. Nothing that you shouldn't expect from a small indie game like this. It's all a part of the charm, and it just adds to the character. Like how something home made might not come in fancy wrappings, but has a lot more soul and heart than a big commercial product could ever achieve. It's a beautiful little indie title, and I recommend everyone to play it.. No-not even on a sale! do not even remotely think to consider it for solo play, (and also fairly safe to still disregard for coop), this is unadulterated bs in digital game form, probably the worst camera i've encountered where a decent one is needed the most, since there is a ton of platforming, and the controls are wonky to boot, -then it feels like a couple of elements was just thrown haphazardly in near the end, with complete disregard for the mind-numbingly poor control schemedon't get suckered in by the "purdy" aesthetics, or some novel sense of story, the game is extremely simplistic in play, platforming, "puzzles" etc, and the experience offers nothing remotely rewarding for your time, effort, or moneyrarely do you encounter a game this "easy"\/simple, yet so infuriating by being utterly hamstrung in its overall disregard and lack of practical\/regular design to fit the scope of play instead of some imagined, unrealized, vision+ when some elements has no consistency or reliability in play, it becomes all the more frustrating, further highlighting flaws and "that's some bs"-scenarios from bad design or wrong gameplay direction choicesmake no mistake, this game is not challenging in gameplay nor "by design", its only remote difficulty lies in the poor controls, wonky design-overall blend\/handling of mechanics. -which is completely magnified if attempted to play this solo! But will still be noticeable in coop... this offers no sense of satisfaction or accomplishment from "overcoming an obstacle"\/engaging challenging playonly a sense of disbelief in oneself of somehow having managed or decided to endure it through to the end. And the regret of having wasted that time, or even money, for the "privilege" of such "experience"-----------------------------------------------------------------PS. people comparing this in any aspect to Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons need to wake up and get real. Shadow Puppeteer doesn't even come close in any regard to that game, Brothers is a great game, and a grand masterpiece compared to this. This is no Brothers in any sense or form, (nor is it Trine). While it's notable it, sorta, tries to do its own thing, sadly it falls shorts in so many of its own areas, and doesn't even come close to other games and what they did.... While the idea is fantastic it was just poorly executed. The isometric 3D camera focused too much on helping the shadow perform their platforming while the other player is left confused as to where they actually are. The whole game seems too focused on the shadow mechanics and the coop elements are weak at best.
